This project is being funded under the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program, and OpenWorm's perticipation in GSoC is sponsored by the INCF (International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility)
1. International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility
INCF promotes implementation of neuroinformatics and advances data reuse & reproducibility in brain research by organizing activities and providing tools & resources to organizations and individual neuroscience researchers in the field of global brain research.
2. Openworm Foundation
OpenWorm is an international open science project to simulate the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans at the cellular level as a simulation. Although the long-term goal is to model all 959 cells of the C. elegans, the first stage is to model the worm's locomotion by simulating the 302 neurons and 95 muscle cells.
